Varicocele is a condition where the veins in the scrotum become enlarged, leading to increased heat around the testes and affecting sperm production. According to Ayurveda, this condition is linked to Vata imbalance, poor blood flow, weakened reproductive tissues (Shukra Dhatu), and excessive heat accumulation.
Common causes include prolonged standing, heavy lifting, chronic constipation, stress, tight clothing, and poor lifestyle habits. Varicocele often results in reduced sperm count, low motility, and discomfort, which can impact fertility.
Ayurvedic treatment aims to improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation, balance Vata, and nourish Shukra Dhatu. Panchakarma therapies like Vasti (medicated enema), Abhyanga, and Snehana–Swedana help relieve congestion. Herbs such as Ashwagandha, Gokshura, Shatavari, Shilajit, Nirgundi, and anti-inflammatory oils provide natural relief.
